About the college

Sacramento City College, founded in 1916 as part of Sacramento High School, is in Sacramento. The college separated from Sacramento High School in 1964 and is a part of the Los Rios Community College District with American River College, Folsom Lake College and Cosumnes River College. Sac City is the seventh oldest public community college in California and the oldest institution of higher learning in Sacramento.
