Bakersfield College, founded in 1913, is one of the nation's oldest community colleges and is part of the Kern Community College District. The college is located on a 153-acre main campus in northeast Bakersfield, and operates two satellite campuses: the Weill Institute in downtown Bakersfield and the Delano Center 35 miles north of Bakersfield.
