About the college

Los Angeles Mission College (LAMC), located in Sylmar, was founded in 1975 as the ninth and newest college in the Los Angeles Community College District.  The college serves the economically and ethnically diverse communities of the Northeast San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas.  LAMC offers associate degree programs, courses for career advancement and general education, preparation for transfer to four-year institutions, Career Technical Education (CTE) programs – notably in child development, culinary arts, and paralegal studies – as well as basic skills and ESL instruction.
