Palo Verde College, in southeast Riverside County, opened its doors in 1947 to just 17 students. In 1999, the college expanded to include the eastern part of San Bernardino County where a newly remodeled educational center serves the residents of the Needles area. In 2001, the college moved to its new 200 acre campus on the mesa overlooking the city of Blythe and includes a 400 seat performing arts center and a physical education building complete with gymnasium and fitness center. Today, Palo Verde College is the college of choice for thousands of students of all ages and backgrounds. Students attend both traditional classroom settings as well as a variety of distance education formats.
