2019 Student Success Scorecard
Butte College
Butte College, established in 1968, is 70 minutes north of Sacramento and serves rural Butte and Glenn Counties. The main campus is in Oroville with satellite educational facilities in Chico and Orland. In 2012 Butte College became the first “grid-positive” college in the state – meaning that it has the capacity to produce more electricity than it needs from its on-site solar arrays. Butte College offers transfer and general education, basic skills and career and technical skills preparation classes ranging from fire and law enforcement academies to agriculture, nursing and other health occupations, welding, and automotive technology, and basic skills. It transfers approximately 600 students to California State University, Chico each year – more than any other community college.
