About the college

College of Alameda (COA) is one of four Peralta Community Colleges. The Peralta Community College District was established in 1964 with its roots in the history of public education in Oakland. The college primarily serves the residents of Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland and Piedmont. For more than 40 years, COA has been providing technical training with expertise ranging from diesel, auto, and aircraft mechanics, to fashion design and dental assisting.
