About the college

Berkeley City College, established in 1974, is part of the Peralta Community College District in downtown Berkeley. The college serves students seeking general education courses, transfers to four-year universities, degrees and certificates in liberal arts and occupational areas, as well as career preparation. The student body represents a diverse mix of ethnic, cultural and economic backgrounds. There are high school students enrolled in advanced courses, full-time workers seeking professional development, people who wish to transfer to a four-year university, and lifelong learners.
