About the college

Glendale Community College was founded in 1927 to serve the needs of the people in the Glendale Union High School District that included La Crescenta, Glendale and Tujunga. Twenty five acres were acquired in 1936 for the present site of the college. It is on the slopes of the San Rafael Mountains overlooking the Glendale area. In 1970, the college became part of the Glendale Community College District.
