About the college

Pasadena City College, founded in 1924, is Pasadena and is a part of the Pasadena Area Community College District. Originally named Pasadena Junior College, the college merged with another junior college, John Muir College, to become Pasadena City College. The college’s math department has won the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges, the community college mathematics competition, numerous times and is the defending champion.
