About the college

College of the Desert (COD), opened in 1962 in Palm Desert, Riverside County, is the primary source of transfer students to CSU San Bernardino, Palm Desert campus. COD offers a number of vocational programs, including Nursing and Health Sciences, Digital Design and Production, Turf Grass Management, Advanced Transportation Technologies, and Culinary Arts, and Administration of Justice courses. The COD leads the way in developing Green Technology education and training. It is the administrative home to Advanced Transportation Technology and Energy (ATTE) statewide initiative to develop curriculum and conduct training for workforce development in emerging transportation and energy industries.
